Legacy Giving

Thank you for your interest in learning more about legacy gift opportunities. Legacy or planned gifts can provide important benefits both to you and to the Museum. These gifts secure the American Visionary Art Museum for future generations. Whatever your estate planning objectives, the Museum can share with you gift planning ideas that will benefit you and your family while creating a lasting legacy at our national Museum. Regardless of the size of your estate, a legacy gift can provide an opportunity to make a difference in the life of the Museum. The different types of legacy gifts include outright bequests, life income plans (charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts), charitable lead trusts, gifts of life insurance policies, and gifts of tangible personal property and art.

Ellis Rosen, beloved AVAM volunteer & animal lover

Truly, the surprise bequest we received from our much beloved late fan and volunteer, Ellis Rosen (also a dog and cat whisperer extraordinaire), acted to help "save" our museum during a critical, rocky economic period. Today, AVAM is abundantly flourishing, wholly debt-free, and enjoys one of America's highest rates of earned museum operational incomes. The Museum is repeatedly listed as one of the top attractions of any kind, anywhere in the world. A treasure for Baltimore and this world, if you cherish your personal or family experience of AVAM's unique combo of warmth, fun and meaning, please do join as a forever part of our "heavenly chorus" of Legacy Endowment Fans and Leaders.

We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have in a confidential manner and to work with you and your advisors to achieve your goals in a way that is personally meaningful to you. For more information, please contact Abby Baer: abby@avam.org or (410) 244-1900 x247. All inquiries are confidential and without obligation.
