Stay for the Eats

Experience Encantada

Encantada is the new restaurant located on AVAM's 3rd floor that features local Chesapeake cooking. Drawing on the importance of "roots," both creative and culinary, Encantada supports regional farms, ranches, and aqua-culture, thus nurturing the concept of sustainability. Experience this enchanted escape where boundaries are blurred and tastes are celebrated.

Visit EncantadaBaltimore.com or call 410-752-1000 for reservations or more info.

Personal Use

We’d love that! A-ok are photos and videos for personal use with existing lighting only (no flash). Also:

  • We ask that you stick to handheld cameras, cell phones, and tablets.
  • Please no tripods, lights, selfie sticks, or other such external equipment.
  • Remember to respect the artwork by staying behind stanchions and maintaining a safe distance from the artwork, including our outdoor sculptures.
  • As you’re snapping, remember to be respectful of other visitors’ experience.

Engagement Photography

We love Love! Due to museum resources, we can only accommodate engagement photos in the exterior of the museum. Please contact the Director of Marketing and Communications, Helen Yuen (helen@avam.org), to schedule your shoot. Also:

  • Props and equipment beyond a hand-held camera need to be pre-approved.

Media, Commercial / Film Shoots, Portraits

Thanks for thinking of us! To photograph here, contact us beforehand for approval via the Director of Marketing and Communications, Helen Yuen (helen@avam.org). In addition to the guidelines for personal use:

  • Tripods, mics and other external equipment may be permitted on a case-by-case basis and may require a staff to accompany you.
  • Please allow our visitors to enjoy their visit without loud talking, music, or blocking the artwork.
  • Prohibited items inside the galleries include — but are not limited to — food, liquids, aerosols, sprays, loose powders, live plants, non-service animals, and cut flowers.
  • Please provide credit to AVAM when possible.
  • Please provide photo releases if visitors will be in your shot.
  • Any props need to be pre-approved.

Wedding Photography

Due to our busy events schedule, we can only accommodate wedding photography — inside and outside — for those couples that are getting married at AVAM. If you are getting married here, please contact our Director of Facility Rentals at rentals@avam.org
