In addition to Visitor Guidelines, we've implemented the below staff guidelines and building modifications to prioritize the well-being and health for you, other visitors, and our staff.

Staff Guidelines

  • All staff are required to
    • have their temperature checked before entering the building. An employee displaying a temperature of over 100.4 F will be sent home.
    • stay home if sick.
    • wear face masks while on site. Staff have received training on PPE.
    • keep a 6 ft. distance as much as possible, with a limited number of employees in common areas and offices.
    • wash their hands frequently and to use hand sanitizer when hand washing is not possible.
  • Any staff displaying flu-like symptoms will be sent home.
  • All staff are asked to avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Staff visits are coordinated to limit the number of people in the office areas.
  • In-person meetings have a limited allowable number of employees with a requirement of social distancing and wearing a mask.
  • When virtual meetings and work are possible, they are encouraged.

Building Modifications

  • Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the front desk of the Main Building and the Jim Rouse Visionary Center building.
  • Credit card terminals have been installed for low-touch transactions.
  • Cloth-covered seating has been removed from the galleries, though a bench is available on each floor of the Main Building and the Jim Rouse Visionary Center.
  • Doors to the permanent collection have been removed for no-touch entry into the 1st floor permanent collection gallery.
  • UV lights will be added to our HVAC system in the Main Building.
  • Mail operations have been relocated to help reduce traffic flow at our admissions desk.
