Welcome back! We’ve missed you! To prioritize the well-being and health for you, other visitors, and our staff, below are our visitor guidelines. They were developed based on protocols created by the CDC, and Maryland and Baltimore City governments. Thanks again for visiting. We're excited to see you!

Plan Your Visit: What to Expect

  • Coat check and water fountains are temporarily suspended. Please limit your bags to 12”X12” in size. Coats and strollers are allowed.
  • All visitors are required to maintain 6 feet of social distancing at all times, including in the elevators and restrooms. Parties/families may remain together. Children must remain with adults at all times.
  • Advanced, online purchase of a timed ticket is required. You can bring either the digital or printed copy of your ticket to be scanned. (Visiting the museum store, Sideshow, is free and does not require purchasing museum admission or a timed entry.)
  • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your scheduled time.
  • All visitors over the age of 2 must wear a face covering. Guests at private events must also wear face coverings, except for in the designated areas for dining and cocktails.
  • Frequent hand washing is encouraged, or use of hand sanitizer stations located throughout the museum when hand washing is not possible.
  • Restrooms and high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, are frequently cleaned throughout the day.
  • If you’re not feeling well, please stay home and visit us another time!

During Your Visit: What You Can See

  • Most galleries and buildings are OPEN. Closed are the Dame Anita Roddick Tall Sculpture Love Barn, the Wildflower Garden, and the basement of our Zanvyl Krieger Main Building, for installation / repair. Additionally, some interactive exhibits will be off to limit contact.
  • Our fabulous museum store, Sideshow, is open.
  • Traffic flow signs will provide one-way direction where it’s required, though you’ll not ever be rushed and can linger with a work that enchants you.
  • Group tours and workshops have been temporarily moved to a virtual format.
  • Signage will help remind visitors about our Visitor Guidelines.
