About the Exhibition

"AVAM’s 'SINGULARITY' exhibition sought to explore the blessings, alongside the justifiable fears and dangers, of the rapidly increasing power, presence, and influence of technology in our lives. The goal was to do so in plain language. Expressed through the eyes of 40+ visionary artists, cutting-edge futurists, and inventors, AVAM sought to promote an honest contemplation of the future of warfare, personal privacy, and transhumanism (the very real effort to download soul, intellect, and human memory into a machine that will not die or grow old.) Pleasing an audience of Nobel Prize Laureates and schoolchildren alike, this show asked, 'Two billion personal computers later, post DNA-sequencing, are we on the road to becoming a better, healthier, happier, less warlike, human race?'" - Founder, Director, and Chief Curator, Rebecca Hoffberger
