About the Exhibition
"Enlisting the long-married husband and wife founders of Raw Vision magazine, John and Maggie Maizels, I sought to posture love (both when it reaches its highest and purest ideal and when it devolves into anything but) as the single most enduring and formative force in our lives in 'LOVE: ERROR & EROS, Love Profane & Divine.' From a deeply personal 'Divorce Quilt' to vintage love letters, visitors could see and feel full-spectrum expressions of love, as well as it's searing absence. Artist Andrew Logan loaned, and later gifted, his 10ft. statue of the late Baltimore actor, Divine, now a much beloved part of AVAM’s permanent collection.
